Hiking Megunticook Trail to Jack Williams Trail Loop
Our favorite way to vacation – lots of hiking and biking during the day, fabulous dinner with wine at night, and sleep late in the morning. This weekend was no different. We decided on an 8 mile loop hike, but cut it short to 6 miles to make it back to our lovely B&B in time to relax on the porch and do a little painting.
AllTrails is my favorite app for planning and navigating hikes and mountain biking. It is awesome to see where you are in real time and realize quickly if you went the wrong way. We had planned on doing the full loop, but having been to Maidencliff Overlook many times in the past, decided to skip the out and back section in favor of more time to relax before dinner.

Painting the view from Isle Watch
The gorgeous covered porch of the Isle Watch suite is a spot I could spend all afternoon in. An incredible view looking out over the islands, combined with comfy lounge chairs and a glass of wine.
After a day of hiking and early restaurant closing times due to covid, I only got about an hour to quickly block in this painting. Still sitting on the drying rack waiting to be finished. One day….
