Plein air oil painting spring daffodils
The Spring season in Newport starts with Daffodil Days. Daffodils abound in the local parks, along the roadside, and especially along the Cliff Walk. When I came upon this sunlit scene on a late afternoon walk with the dogs I know I had to come back and paint.
Painting the concrete pillars and wrought iron gates was a bit challenging but fun to try.
Deciding which direction to look is the hardest part of walking on the Cliff Walk. From the ornate seaside ‘cottages’ to the turquoise blue waters, there is beauty in every direction.
