Description

Studio painting based on my reference photo taken just before the storm clouds let loose a summer downpour. I had been by the shore painting the windy sea when I saw the storm clouds rolling in from the west. I quickly packed my gear and started walking towards the parking lot. I snapped the reference photo for this painting about 10 minutes prior to the downpour. I loved how the sun was still illuminating the field of wild goldenrod while the dramatic clouds piled up in the sky. The landscape oil painting is 11 x 14 inches on a linen panel in a black wood frame.
