As I left work at Lily Pad Gallery in Watch Hill on a late winter evening, the sky was just amazing. I drove quickly to Napatree Point, a favorite plein air painting location of mine, ran to the top of the dunes and captured a few beautiful reference photos of the setting sun. This painting captures the quiet evening with no one left on the cold beach as the sun set beyond the horizon and lit up the distant cloud bank.
